Menyanthes trifoliata
Also called Buckbean — a distinctive bog and fen plant with trifoliate leaves held just above the water and spikes of fringed star-shaped white flowers (often tinged pink) in late spring. Striking close up: each petal is edged with a fuzzy white fringe of hairs. Traditional medicinal use across Europe and N. America for digestive and rheumatic complaints.
