Canada Anemone

Canada Anemone

Anemone canadensis

notimewask(Cree)

The Canada Anemone brightens moist meadows and streambanks with crisp white saucer-shaped flowers from May through July. A vigorous spreader via rhizomes — ideal for naturalizing wet areas but can outcompete neighbours in a small bed. Fresh plant contains protoanemonin, which is mildly toxic if chewed but loses its toxicity when dried.
