Hedge Nettle

Stachys palustris

A mint-family perennial (despite the name, not a true nettle) of Alberta's wet meadows and streambanks. Square stems and whorls of pink-purple hooded flowers in spikes atop 40–80 cm plants. Spreads by rhizomes. Tolerates wet feet better than most garden mint relatives.
