Vaccinium vitis-idaea
Also called Mountain Cranberry or Partridgeberry. A low evergreen groundcover of boreal and alpine Alberta, with shiny round leaves and clusters of small tart red berries. Harvested after frost when sweetness develops. Essential food in Scandinavian, Sami, and northern Indigenous cuisines β traditionally made into jams and sauces to accompany game meat.

Propagation
