Marsh Cinquefoil

Comarum palustre

A striking wetland perennial (formerly Potentilla palustris) with dark maroon-purple five-petaled flowers unique among North American cinquefoils. Leaves compound with 5–7 toothed leaflets. Found in Alberta's fens, wet meadows, and bog edges. Traditional medicinal use by boreal peoples.
