Meadow Horsetail

Equisetum pratense

A delicate branched horsetail of Alberta's moist meadows and open woods. Similar to Wood Horsetail but the side branches are simpler (not re-branched). Forms colonies via underground rhizomes. High silica content makes it useful for scouring pots and polishing wood β€” the historical 'scouring rush.'
