Mountain Bluebell

Mertensia ciliata

A tall streambank perennial of Alberta's alpine and subalpine areas (30–100 cm), with clusters of nodding blue bell-flowers and blue-green leaves. Colonies along mountain creeks are stunning in July. Distinguished from Tall Bluebells (Mertensia paniculata) by habitat and its preference for truly wet rocky seeps.
