Rosa arkansana
A short prairie rose rarely exceeding 50 cm tall, with slender stems bristling with straight thorns and relatively large pink flowers on new growth (unlike Wild Rose, which blooms on old wood). Dies back to the ground most winters and resprouts each spring. Found on prairie, roadsides, and open parkland.
