Potentilla anserina
A low trailing perennial of beach and riverbank edges, with silvery-silky pinnate leaves and solitary yellow five-petaled flowers. The starchy roots were an important Indigenous food β Blackfoot people of Alberta used the runners (stolons) as ties for leggings and blankets. Spreads vigorously by stolons, like a wild strawberry. Also classified as Argentina anserina in recent taxonomy.
