Slender Wheatgrass

Elymus trachycaulus

A bunch-forming native grass with slender upright seed spikes. More drought-tolerant than most wheatgrasses and among the most widely used in Alberta native seed mixes for roadside and rangeland restoration. Short-lived (5–10 years) but self-seeds. Establishes quickly and gives cover while longer-lived natives develop.
