Spreading Dogbane

Apocynum androsaemifolium

wapamew-waskway(Cree)

Pink bell-shaped flowers make this look appealing, but all parts contain cardiac glycosides toxic to humans, dogs, cats, and livestock. The milky white sap is an immediate warning sign. Dried stem fibres were used by Indigenous peoples for cordage and rope.
