ᒣᒯᒢᒴᒣᒢ — misiskwamis(Cree)
Sacred to many Indigenous nations and one of the four sacred medicines in many Plains traditions. Used in smudging ceremonies, weaving into braids, and traditional medicines. The sweet vanilla-like scent (from coumarin) intensifies when dried and carries spiritual significance in Cree traditions. Also called Hierochloe odorata in older sources.
