Platanthera dilatata
A tall, vanilla-scented native orchid of Alberta's fens, wet meadows, and mountain seeps. Dense spikes of small waxy-white flowers rise 30–80 cm above a clump of lance-shaped leaves. The fragrance is famously sweet — most powerful at dusk. A signature orchid of Alberta's healthy wetlands.
