Absinthe Wormwood

Artemisia absinthium

⚠️ NOXIOUS — a 60–120 cm European perennial with silver-grey aromatic fern-like leaves and small yellow flower clusters. Source of the liqueur absinthe. Illegal to sell in Alberta — invades pastures aggressively and the bitter oils taint dairy when cattle graze it. Do not confuse with native sages (Artemisia frigida, A. ludoviciana).
