⚠️ PROHIBITED NOXIOUS — a winter annual from the Mediterranean with spiny bristled seed heads and pink-purple thistle-like flowers. Extremely rare in Alberta but massive threat if established — has devastated rangeland in Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. Spiny awned seeds attach to wool, fur, and clothing. Report any sighting immediately.
