Jade Plant
Crassula ovata
A beloved succulent from South Africa with thick woody stems and plump oval jade-green leaves sometimes tinted red along the edges in bright sun. In many cultures considered a symbol of prosperity and friendship (the 'money plant'). A very long-lived houseplant — specimens a century old exist. Small starry pink-white flowers appear in winter on mature plants that get cool dry dormancy.
