White Water Lily

Nymphaea leibergii

Alberta's native white water lily, often called Pygmy Water Lily for its smaller size than the garden hybrids. Large floating heart-shaped leaves and fragrant white star-shaped flowers with golden centres that open on sunny summer mornings. Found in calm boreal lakes and ponds.
