ZZ Plant
Zamioculcas zamiifolia
An East African rhizomatous plant with glossy feather-like leaves — among the toughest houseplants available. Tolerates low light, irregular watering, and dry air. Underground rhizomes (large potato-like water storage organs) make it nearly impossible to underwater. Overwatering is the only real threat. Slow-growing: don't expect more than 1–2 new stems per year.

Propagation
Division of the rhizome when repotting is fastest. Leaf cuttings work but take 6–12 months to produce a new rhizome. Whole-leaflet cuttings in water develop a tiny rhizome at the base.
